Apparently, Iranian-American Said Sayrafiezadeh is one of the most promising young fiction writers today. I can’t wait to read his memoir “when skateboards will be free” about growing up a socialist revolutionary in Pittsburgh. In the meantime, I hope you all take a moment to read his short story, “Appetite,” which was recently published in the New Yorker magazine. The story is a perfect vignette about ennui, depression, love, and status anxiety in the USA. Remember the name, you will hear a lot about this guy in the future.
